Algo Tutoring is a two-tutor studio in Los Angeles. This page says what we collect, why, and how to reach us about it.

What we collect

When you request a consultation we keep your name, email address, phone number, and what you wrote to us, so we can reply. When you create an account we keep your full name, email address, an optional mobile number, and whether you agreed to be texted. We keep students’ first names and grade only. We do not collect student contact details.

Tutors sign in with an email link and a passkey or authenticator app. We keep the sign-in records needed to protect those accounts.

Texting

If you give Algo Tutoring your mobile number and tick the texting box, we send sign-in codes and session reminders by SMS, nothing else. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop, or HELP for help. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Google account access

A tutor may connect their own Google account so their Google Calendar reflects their availability and sessions. We read and write only calendar events for that purpose. We do not use Google data for anything else, do not sell it, and do not share it with third parties except the services that run the site, listed below. A tutor can disconnect at any time from their settings or from their Google account permissions page, and we then stop accessing their calendar.

Who runs the site

The site runs on Vercel, the database is hosted Postgres, email is sent through Resend, and text messages through Twilio. Public forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots. Each of these processes data only to provide its service to us.

Keeping and deleting

We keep records for as long as we work with you. Ask us and we delete your information, apart from what we must keep for bookkeeping.
